A little late to the party.

So the Ted Haggard story has been going on for a while now, and I have a couple of comments to make.

As I said previously, I tentatively support the outing of public figures who are actively working against gay rights, but I'm disgusted with the absolute glee with which many people receive the news of these outings.

That being said, I'm finding the Ted Haggard scandal to incredibly amusing.

Am I a hypocrite?  It's possible, but my entertainment is coming mostly from the absolutely ludicrous attempts Haggard has made to defuse the situation.  "I've never seen this guy in my life."  "OK, I've met him, but it was for a massage."  "I bought the meth, but it was only because I was curious, and I threw it out without using it."  Stop it, Ted, yer killing me, here.

I just hope that Ted Haggard has learned not to buy his personal scandals at Ty Herndon's yard sale.
